This month the Science for Technological Innovation National Science Challenge launched the Veracity Spearhead Research project. The $2M two-year project will investigate technology solutions on how to verify something is what it appears to be. We will investigate innovative ways to validate the truthfulness, trustworthiness, and authenticity of physical products, digital products, and data. The team involves researchers across New Zealand, including Dr Kelly Blincoe from the University of Auckland’s Human Aspects of Software Engineering Lab. Dr Blincoe will co-lead the socio-technical research aim, which will look at how people will interact with the veracity technology systems. The research team met this week in Wellington to kick off the project.
